Coefficient of friction test fixture - ASTM D1894

When you need to test the friction coefficient of a material or surface, this fixture is ideal. It uses the tensile motion of the tester to measure the force it takes to pull a weighted sled covered in the tester material across a surface. When used with Com-Ten's COMTEST software, this fixture can test the static and kinetic coefficient of friction. The sled measures 2.5" x 2.5", the plane measures 6" wide x 12" long with a supporting base of 8" wide and 15" long. Tests in accordance with ASTM D1894 (Standard Test Method for Static and Kinetic Coefficients of Friction of Plastic Film and Sheeting)
